Environics' Health and Pharma Services practice offers clients access to a diverse selection of syndicated research tools. These are regularly scheduled surveys that offer clients cost-effective opportunities to conduct new research or access to valuable tracking data that can be used for strategic insight.
The 3SC Social Values Monitor
The 3SC Social Values Monitor is an annual survey of 2,600 Canadians. It offers tracking for more than 100 social values trends over the past 15 years and through it, we can offer Health and Pharma practice clients access to a sophisticated values-based psychographic segmentation of Canadian patients. Environics is the only Canadian company licensed to use this international research tool.
This segmentation isolates five different segments among the Canadian public according to their orientations to several defining issues, including usage and compliance patterns re prescription drugs, confidence in the medical profession, sense of personal control over and responsibility for their state of health, and reliance on traditional vs. alternative approaches to health care, among others. The segments are further defined and distinguished by their underlying values and mindsets - and it is here that Environics' specially trained consultants are able to tease, out of the data, the kinds of insights that allow their clients to connect with consumers in meaningful and innovative ways.
National Pulse on Health Strategy
The National Pulse on Health Strategy (National Pulse) is one of the most comprehensive surveys ever conducted on the attitudes of the general public and health care professionals (just over 3,200 Canadians and just under 2,000 health care professionals) on issues related to Health and Pharma care.
The Pharma topics include: the role of Pharma companies in the development of new medications and treatments, the drug approvals process, pharmaceutical costs and drug plans, brand name vs. generic drugs, patent protection and advertising of prescription drugs. Other health topics include: assessments of Canada's health care system, government spending priorities, support for specific reforms (such as user fees, group clinics, measures designed to control access to the health care system, and increasing the role of private health care delivery), accessing health care information, community and end-of-life care, and ethical issues related to medical research.
Focus Canada
Focus Canada is a quarterly survey of 2,000 Canadians. It covers a wide range of topics related to public policy, with health care being one of its primary areas of investigation. Through it, the Health and Pharma practice can offer national tracking data going back to the 1970s. We can also offer access to the Focus Canada omnibus service, a cost-effective vehicle for exploring specific areas of inquiry in situations where there is insufficient budget for a full customized stand-alone survey or where a client has a fairly narrow area of interest that might not warrant a customized stand-alone survey.
Focus 50+ Monitor
The Focus 50+ Monitor is an annual national survey of 2,400 Canadians aged 50-80 years. Clients of Environics' Health and Pharma practice can place questions on this survey, which offers a much larger than usual sample of Canada's fastest growing demographic cohort. Because the overall sample is larger, the survey offers cost-effective opportunities to look at the attitudes, experiences and expectations of a broad array of subgroups within the nation's seniors.
